Art in the Everyday of Life

Jordi Camps is the guest artist for July at Carolyn Huff Photography Studio and Gallery.

Jordi says his interest in art began when he was a kid. He enjoyed playing with colored pencils and doing things with his hands. That has not changed throughout the years. Everything he paints comes from his everyday life. The things he learns, the people he meets, and the places he visits all inspire him.

Being a self-taught artist makes Jordi an inventor. He creates his own tools to make different lines and textures. He uses anything from cooking utensils to screwdrivers and wine corks to sand paper to give textures you wouldn't normally see in a painting. Contemporary and figurative styles are his passions, but he also enjoys painting portraits, landscapes, and abstracts. When it comes to mediums, he mixes them to give different effects. He uses oils, acrylics, Indian inks, and watercolors to create his vibrant style.

Carolyn Huff Photography Studio and Gallery is located at 1224 K Street in downtown Modesto. An Artist Reception is held on the third Thursday of each month from 5-9 pm, coinciding with the Modesto Art Walk.  In addition to the art of Jordi Camps, we are also featuring gallery artist Sharon Maney Lomanto July through September.
